The Oceanport Fire Explorer Post 38-1 is an explorer post
through the Boy Scouts of America. They learn the trades of
the Fire Department and assist them in outside operations at
a fire scene. Since Most Fire
Departments need more
Volunteers, They are starting Explorer Posts to train and
develop potential firefighters
The Oceanport Fire
Explorer Post 38-1 has been very busy this past year. The
post currently has 20 explorers which meet twice a month.
Explorers are youths age 14 and above who have graduated the
8th grade. The explorers learn about the fire service
through hands on drills in the community volunteer fire
department.
The post held several
fundraiser's this year including a pancake breakfast, and a
car wash. They are looking forward to having more
fundraiser's this coming year to raise money for training,
apparel, radios/pagers, and other necessities. Post 38-1
meets at the Oceanport Hook & Ladder (on Main Street) the
2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6pm. All are Welcome.
The Oceanport Fire Explorers are
currently looking for new members. Ages 14-20 are welcome to
join. For membership information please fill out the form on
